LUMBERTON — Police are seeking answers after a man was shot while sitting in his vehicle at a stoplight on Monday.

James Blount Jr., 38, was struck at about 8:05 p.m. while in his vehicle at a traffic light at the intersection of Crandlemire and Marion roads, said Lumberton police Capt. Terry Parker. Blount, whose address was not available, drove himself to the hospital, where he was treated for what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Parker said little information is known about the shooter, who was in a black vehicle.
