LUMBERTON — A 61-year-old Robeson County man has been charged with assaulting a paramedic who was trying to do his job.
Bobby Henson Locklear, of 232 Philadelphus Road, Pembroke, was arrested on Saturday and charged with felony assault causing physical injury to an emergency personnel.
According to court records, Locklear assaulted Oscar Henderson, an emergency medical technician, who was employed by Robeson County Emergency Medical Services. Court records said Locklear grabbed Henderson about the left arm and pulled him down to the ground, pushed the medical stretcher into the victim, pinning the victim against a brick pillar, and caused bruising and swelling to Henderson’s left shoulder. At the time of the assault, Henderson was attempting transport a patient out of the dwelling into an ambulance.
The incident took place at Locklear’s home.
He was released under $5,000 bond.
