LUMBERTON — Robeson Community College will reopen for classes on Thursday at 8 a.m. after closing for more than two weeks because of Hurricane Florence.

Students who wish to access resources such as computer labs and the media center may do so on Wednesday, according to Dennis Watts, a spokesman for the college.

When the college reopens for classes on Thursday, staff will be available in the Fred G. Williams Student Center to assist students in connecting them with community resources related to recovery from Hurricane Florence.

RCC officials advise students that if it is not safe to travel to the school, don’t do. Students who are unable to return are asked to call student services at 910-272-3353.

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke resumed classes Tuesday. It is unknown when students at the Public Schools of Robeson County will return to class.

The college’s board of trustees has also canceled a retreat it had scheduled for next week.
