LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County will be closed Thursday for students and staff because of bad weather associated with the leftovers of Hurricane Michael.
All sports and extracurricular activities, including Driver’s Ed, also are cancelled for Thursday, according to Tasha Oxendine, a spokesperson for the system.
Student have been out of class since Sept. 12 because of Hurricane Florence.
On Friday schools will remain closed for students and there will be a two-hour delay for central office staff, school administrators and custodians as they inspect school campuses.
The system will continue working with Robeson County Emergency Management officials as they monitor Michael’s progress, according to Oxendine. Administrators will provide updates about next week’s schedule no later than 5 p.m. Sunday.
