FAYETTEVILLE. (AP) — A Fayetteville teacher is under investigation after a recording captured the teacher yelling and making threats in the classroom.
The Fayetteville Observer reports a concerned mother sent her 10-year-old son to Alderman Road Elementary School with a recording device in May because his grades started slipping.
In the recording, there were several audible threats from a teacher, including one where the instructor says “somebody might just get hurt and I just might go to jail.”
The student at Alderman Road Elementary School is in a class for students with disabilities.
The mother told the newspaper she received a message Thursday from Ruben Reyes, the school system’s executive director for exceptional children’s services, saying an associate superintendent was conducting an investigation.
