LUMBERTON — Hip Pocket will bring beach tunes downtown Thursday for the continuation of the Alive After 5 concert series.

Founded in 2008 in Greensboro, Hip Pocket won the 2009 Carolina Beach Music Association New Artist of the Year Award. In addition to beach music, the band plays party, Motown, soul, hot new country and “everything in between.” Favorite songs include “It’s Gonna Take a Long Time” and “Dance like it’s 79.”

The show is scheduled to run from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the downtown plaza at Third and Chestnut streets. Admission is free, and food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Attendees can bring lawn chairs for comfort.
