RALEIGH — Lumberton is the site of one of three public hearings ReBuild NC has scheduled for next week to receive public comments on how North Carolina plans to use $168 million in Community Development Block Grant–Mitigation funding.

The meeting in Lumberton is scheduled for 6 p.m., with presentations starting at 6:30 p.m., at A.D. Lewis Auditorium on the campus of Robeson Community College, located at 160 Fayetteville Road.

The block grant money has been allocated to the state by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Interactive sessions and presentations planned for the hearings will explain what mitigation is and how the funding may be used.

The other two meetings are Tuesday in Keihin Auditorium on the campus of Edgecombe Community College, located at 2009 W. Wilson St. in Tarboro, and Wednesday in the Performing Arts Center at Grover C. Fields Middle School, located at 2000 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in New Bern.
