LUMBERTON — The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a shooting over the weekend that left a 25-year-old Rowland woman hospitalized and fighting for her life.

Robeson County Sheriff’s deputies responded Saturday at about 6:22 p.m. to a report of a person shot at 2941 N.C. 710 North in Pembroke, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. Farol Nicole Anders was found suffering from gunshot wounds at the location.

Anders was transported to an undisclosed medical center and listed in critical condition, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators were actively interviewing witnesses and a person of interest, as of Saturday.

Anders remained in the hospital on Monday, and no updates were available on her condition at the time, said Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins.

Wilkins asked for county residents to continue praying for Anders’ full recovery in a Sunday Facebook post.

“Prayers are working as we ask for continued prayers for the family and the victim of last night’s shooting in the Prospect community. Can’t release anymore details at the moment as the investigation continues,” his statement reads.
