LUMBERTON — A 21-year-old man has been charged in a graduation party shooting that injured another man on Saturday morning, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

A warrant had been issued from Charles Craig Hunt, of Milestone Road, and according to Maj. Anthony Thompson, chief of detectives for the Sheriff’s Office, Hunt turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon.

Hunt is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was jailed at the Robeson County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened at a graduation party on Lyndsey Lane in Shannon at about 3 a.m. on Saturday.

Joshua Woods, who lives at the Shannon home, was asking guests to leave when an “altercation happened between Woods and another man” in a parked vehicle. Multiple shots were fired and Woods was left bleeding from the head.

He was flown to an undisclosed hospital and on Sunday evening was in stable condition. There was no update available today on his condition.
