Libertarian Senate candidate in NC suffers heart attack

DURHAM (AP) — The Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina says he suffered a heart attack, but is expected to be mostly back to normal soon.

Sean Haugh posted on his Facebook page Friday that he suffered a heart attack on Tuesday and was waiting to have stents put in his arteries.

He posted later Friday that the procedure went better than expected and he hoped to get out of Duke University Hospital this weekend.

Haugh wrote that “odds of my continuing existence remain high.”

Haugh is a pizza delivery driver who also ran as a Libertarian for U.S. Senate in 2014, getting 3.7 percent of the vote.
