LUMBERTON — A Robeson County man was killed and his wife was injured Friday in a fire at their home on U.S. 301 between Lumberton and Rowland.

According to the county Sheriff’s Office, the call came in at 8 a.m. Friday about the fire suspected to have started in the attic of the Raynham community home. The name of the man who died in the fire had not been released at time of publication. The deceased man’s wife also was in the home at the time of the fire and suffered injuries that were not life threatening injuries. She was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The fire is under investigation.
