LUMBERTON — The national news spotlight will shine again on Robeson County and its people on Thursday.

A Fox News Channel spokesperson has confirmed that Abby Huntsman, a co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekend” who regularly contributes to the weekday program Fox & Friends, will be at Perritt’s Cafe to film a segment of “Breakfast With Friends.” The spokesman did not give a time for Huntsman’s visit to the local eatery or reveal what Huntsman would be speaking with patrons about.

“Fox & Friends,” which airs weekdays from 6 to 9 a.m. on Fox News Channel, has as its regular hosts Ainsley Earhardt, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade. “Breakfast With Friends” is a recurring segment filmed in various cafes and diners across the United States. In past months Huntsman and other contributors have filmed segments during which they have spoken to people about the presidential election and the early days of President Donald Trump’s administration.

“Abby will be speaking with diner patrons about political news of the day,” the Fox spokesperson said.

Perritt’s Cafe is located at 4511 Pine Log Road.

The ABC Network show “Good Morning America” provided the most recent chance for Lumberton and Robeson County to bask in the national limelight. The morning news and entertainment program filmed part of its show from the Lumberton Junior High School campus on Feb. 16.

The broadcast focused on how Lumberton Junior High’s staff and students were sharing their campus with West Lumberton Elementary School staff and students. Also highlighted on Feb. 16 was how the public schools and the people of Robeson County were picking up the pieces after the storm.
