LUMBERTON — McArthur “Mac” Jones, 74, of Lumberton, N.C., died at his home on Monday, April 3, 2017. He was born in Horry County, S.C .,on May 4, 1942 to the late Lemon and Minnie Tyler Jones. He was President and CEO of Bestway Express Trucking.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Jones of the home; a son, Kevin Jones (Lisa) of Lumberton; daughters, Kathy Martin (Timmy) of Florence, S.C., and Karen Mitchell (Brett) of Darlington, S.C.; sisters, Margaret Owens of Mullins, S.C., Lou Esther Dunn of Lumberton, and Lida Hudson (Rodney) of Florence, S.C.; grandchildren, Emily Martin Tedder (Matt), Adam Cameron, Brian Mitchell, Blake Jones, Savannah Jones, and Zach Karnes; a great-grandchild, Eleanor Tedder; and two beloved pets, Daisy and Dixie.

Family visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, 809 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. Chestnut Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Herbert Lowery and Rev. Stan Smith officiating. The interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Sandy Plain United Methodist Church.
