Events benefit Guardian ad Litem program

LUMBERTON — In recognition of volunteers and April being Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Robeson County Guardian ad Litem program is staging two events.

A motorcycle run is scheduled for April 15. The run, sponsored by the State Burners Motorcycle Club, will start at the old Department of Social Services building at 435 Caton Road in Lumberton. Registration starts at 11 a.m., and the run starts at noon. Tickets are $10 per rider and $5 for each additional rider. Proceeds will benefit the county Guardian ad Litem program.

A Voices of Recognition Guardian ad Litem Gala to honor longtime volunteers who advocate for children in court has been scheduled for April 21 at Pinecrest Country Club at 110 Nigel Road in Lumberton. The semi-formal event will be from 7 to 11 p.m. and will feature dinner and dancing. Tickets are $25 per person.
