ORRUM — A local man was shot and wounded Thursday afternoon in a home invasion, a Robeson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said.

Eric Ray Oxendine, 38, of 151 Hoppy Drive, was shot in the leg, Maj. Anthony Thompson said. Oxendine was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center with an injury that is not considered life-threatening.

Investigators are searching for two people, Thompson said, but are not released their names.

Two masked men wearing hoodies came to Oxendine’s residence about 1:45 p.m., Thompson said. Oxendine tried to shut the door on them, but they forced their way in. The men demanded something and Oxendine refused to give the men what they demanded. The men then shot Oxendine and took a firearm from him. Oxendine did not tell investigators what the men demanded or say what type of firearm was taken.
