LUMBERTON — A workshop for new and existing poultry farmers is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Southeastern North Carolina Agricultural Events Center.

The workshop, sponsored by the Rural Advancement Foundation International and the Farm Service Agency, is titled “A Poultry Farmer’s Guide to FSA Loans.” The process of applying for FSA loans for poultry farmers will be discussed. There will be loan officers and Rural Advancement Foundation International staff on site to answer any questions.

Farm Service Agency has many credit programs available to help farmers finance their farm, but the process of applying for funding can be confusing. The workshop is designed to help new and existing poultry farmers answer the questions about the FSA loan process.

Topics to be covered include types of loans available, preparing for the loan, developing detailed costs and income estimates, the loan application process, managing loan repayment, restructuring and default, and more.

Refreshments will be provided.

The center is located at 1027 U.S. 74 in Lumberton. To RSVP, call or email Tyler Whitley at [email protected] or 919-621-0534.
