LUMBERTON — Tonnie Prevatte, of Prevatte’s Home Sales Inc. in Lumberton, has received the James E. LaVasque Award, the highest award given by the North Carolina Manufactured and Modular Homebuilders Association.

The award is presented annually by the association to a member who embodies the high standards, vision and leadership ability of Oakwood Homes President James E. LaVasque, an industry pioneer who was one of the founders of the association and served as one of its first presidents.

The association said in a statement that Prevatte actively promotes the manufactured and modular housing industry through his involvement within the association, his unceasing commitment to customer service and his passion for providing quality and affordable housing to residents of Lumberton and surrounding counties.

“This distinguished award is a tribute to Tonnie for his continuous service not only to his loyal customers, but also to the association and industry as a whole,” said Bill McLucas, president of the association.
