LUMBERTON — Betty Jones, Sonya Parrent and Robert Owens are the Public Schools of Robeson County’s Employees of the Month for October.
Jones is the Certified Employee of the Month. She is a fifth-grade science teacher at Pembroke Elementary School.
“Ms. Betty is a master teacher; not only in subject area but throughout the total school environment,” Principal Tona Jacobs wrote in Jones’ nomination form.
Parrent is the Classified Employee of the Month. She is a teacher assistant at West Lumberton Elementary School.
In Parrent’s nomination form, Principal Tara Bullard wrote, “Ms. Sonya is absolutely excellent at her job. As a teacher assistant, Ms. Sonya spends her time by providing small-group instruction to students in her class.”
Owens is the Bus Driver of the Month. He is a driver at Fairmont Middle School.
“Mr. Owens has served as bus driver and cafeteria worker at Fairmont Middle School. He is very familiar with the community and does everything he can to promote the well-being of the staff and students,” Assistant Principal Tracey Ferguson wrote in Owens’ nomination form.
