Robeson County Humane Society’s drive nets $1,200 in cash, supplies

To the Editor,

I just wanted to share our results after the “Christmas in July” supply drive. First, I would like to thank Lowes Food for sponsoring our drive and The Robesonian for giving us such great publicity. We could not have done this without your support.

We received $870 worth of donated supplies and $332 cash and artwork donations. We were just over $1,200 — a good day.

I would like to thank our volunteers who greeted customers as they walked into the store: Owen Thomas, Joan Bowen, April Drake, Marlena Flowers, Donna Walters, Marion Thompson and Jewely and Greg Schroder. Thank you for spending part of your Saturday supporting our drive. You made the supply drive a success.

These donated supplies of cat litter, clorox, detergent, paper towels, and other items help the shelter stay clean and lets us spend our donated dollars on vet bills, utilities, and the daily upkeep of the shelter.

The animals at the shelter really appreciate it.
