Tax cuts allow business ownersto reinvests in their employees

To the Editor,

Now that Congress has officially passed a budget and they are moving on to tax reform, small businesses can expect next year’s taxes to be a little less scary.

As a small business owner and the president of Artisan Signs, I have a personal understanding of why we need tax cuts. Instead of reinvesting my earnings into my employees and my business, I am forced to send them to Washington, D.C., to be used on bureaucratic federal programs with high-salaried administrators.

The proposed tax framework cuts small business taxes by nearly 40 percent, bringing their federal tax burden down to 25 percent, and the subsequent relief provides these entities with well-deserved relief.

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. For the good of the country, Congress needs to pass tax cuts.
