When it comes to understanding romantic relationships, no one ever confused me with Joyce Brothers, and if there was a doubt about that, it will be erased by the end of this column.

Despite the absence of any bona fides, the most FAQ I field concerning Bill Belichick and his still-short tenure as the head football coach at the University of North Carolina is not how many games do I think the Heels will win this year (10), or how is recruiting going (good, trending toward great), but this: What do you think of Belichick and his girlfriend?
Well, he is Bill BeliCHICK.
The 73-year-old Belichick and Jordon Hudson, who is 24, smoking hot brunette with a bikini body, which exempts her from being a dumb blonde, have become a national piñata since a recent interview with CBS that I have not seen, and never will if I have control of the remote. I did, however, see an outtake that has caused all the outrage, and prompted a press release from Belichick that Hudson probably penned.
It read, in part, that Belichick was there to talk about his book, “The Art of Winning: Lessons From My Life in Football,” and not about his love life; he added that CBS used clever editing to enhance the cringyness, a word I just coined.
The question was, and I will paraphrase, about how he and Hudson met. She stepped in to shut down the question, the CBS reporter tried again, and the ball deflated.
Their meeting is not a mystery, and the answer can be found by googling with just a few keystrokes. I will do the work: They met on Feb. 11, 2021, while on a flight together when a conversation ensued concerning a book Hudson, a student at the time, was reading, “Deductive Logic,” Exhibit No. 2 dispelling any notion that Hudson is a dumb blonde.
Belichick signed the book as follows:
“Jordon, Thanks for giving me a course on logic! Safe travels! Bill Belichick
SB 36, 38, 39, 49, 51, 53 Champions”
I bet Jordon could have used the correct Roman numerals.
A year later they began dating, and now apparently have, as Belichick describes it, a professional and personal relationship. Obviously, that leaves out a lot, which I cannot share because I do not know the details, and I am not going to close my eyes and try to envision them. Well, maybe her.
But I did learn this: Hudson was already earning seven-figures as a social influencer, whatever that is, before she and Belichick itemized. Although I do not have the password to her online banking, there is information floating on the internet saying she was already a millionaire.
Exhibit No. 3 that she is not a dumb blonde.
But a more interesting tidbit I was told, but have had trouble establishing, is that Jordon’s previous boyfriend was a 60-year-old. If so, she clearly has a type, older men with what I think they call dad bods.
As a soon-to-be 68-year-old, I choose to believe this. We all need hope.
Although I would defer to Brothers and The Fruit Lady on such matters, I think it has been long established that there is no explaining love. If Belichick were a rock star, and not the football coaching GOAT, it would make sufficient sense that no one would be talking about it.
Now, could we turn back to the game? Please.
