LUMBERTON — All three of Robeson County’s high school football games scheduled for Thursday were postponed due to inclement weather.

Purnell Swett will host Douglas Byrd at 7 p.m. on Monday, with times for South Robeson at Lake View and Ashley at Fairmont to be determined at a later date. For updates, check robesonian.com or Rodd Baxley and Jonathan Bym on Twitter.

Lumberton’s game tonight against South View is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. If it’s postponed due to inclement weather, the game will be played at 7 p.m. Monday.

The Lumberton boys soccer team improved to 2-0 in Sandhills Athletic Conference play with a 3-1 win over Jack Britt on Wednesday.

Rene Altamirano scored two goals and Cole Lewis added the third. Lewis assisted on the first goal from Altamirano.

Lumberton (4-1) travels to St. Pauls on Tuesday.

In other SAC soccer action, Purnell Swett surrendered a 2-1 first-half lead to lose a home conference match against Scotland, 3-2.

Vidal Valesquez had the two goals for Purnell Swett. Jamison Strickland assisted on one of the goals. The Scots tied the game before halftime and netted the game-winning goal with 34 minutes left in the match.

The Rams (2-2-2) travel to Pinecrest on Wednesday.

In tennis, Purnell Swett earned a 6-0 win over Seventy-First on Thursday. Harlie Scott and Tierra Locklear picked up forfeit wins in singles and forfeit doubles win. Abi Lowry, Malina Cummings and Elysha Strickland all won their matches in straight sets.

In Three Rivers volleyball action, Fairmont lost 3-2 against Whiteville. The Lady Golden Tornadoes won two of the first three sets before dropping the final two sets to the Wolfpack.MacKenzie Johnson tallied 28 assists to lead Fairmont, with Maya Bellamy adding 12 kills and five blocks. Kiara Page logged 20 digs and 13 kills. Kaylee McMillian had 15 digs.

Red Springs lost in three sets to East Columbus, 27-25, 25-23 and 25-15. Jessica Hunt finished with 10 digs to lead the Lady Red Devils. Jalexus Bratcher added six kills and Katelyn Culbreth tallied four kills.

South Robeson earned a 3-1 win against West Bladen.
