PEMBROKE — The Triton softball team plated five runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Purnell Swett 6-3 on the road on Monday.

The Lady Rams (3-3) scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come back from a 1-0 deficit. Kierra Locklear scored two run on a double in the frame and Kaitlyn Hunt scored another with her double in the same inning.

Triton (7-0) handed Purnell Swett starter JaiLeana Deese the loss after scoring the five runs the next half inning.

Purnell Swett soccer blanks Lady Falcons

FAYETTEVILLE — The Purnell Swett girls soccer team shut out Seventy-First for a 9-0 mercy-rule win on the road.

Abi Lowry scored four goals to lead her team, while Maddison Oxendine and Layla Locklear each posted two goals. Khaile Jones netted the other goals in the victory.

In other Sandhills Athletic Conference soccer action, Richmond earned a 4-0 win over Lumberton at home. Emma Barnes had 14 saves in goal.

Lumberton drops road tennis match

LAURINBURG — The Lumberton boys tennis lost 5-4 to Scotland on the road.

Josh Britt, Cole Lewis and Elijah Hammonds won their singles matches for the Pirates. The pair of Quinton Frederick and Connor Kinlaw won the No. 3 singles match.
