PEMBROKE —The University of North Carolina at Pembroke athletic department will be hosting several camps in June and July.

The Ben Miller basketball camp begins on Monday and concludes on Wednesday. The camp is open to boys and girls entering kindergarten to ninth grade in the fall.

Sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Preregistration for the camp ended Friday, but walk-ups can still participate for $100.

There will be a high school camp for boys basketball teams on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $300 per team.

John Haskins and the women’s basketball team are putting on a team camp that begins on June 22. The cost is $280 per team.

The UNCP softball team will host two camps for high schoolers this summer. The first session will take place on June 19 to 20, and the second session will run on July 11 to 12.

The camps will include comprehensive skills training and live scrimmages. Individuals can preregister for $150 or register on the day of the camp for $175.

Wrestlers of all ages will have opportunities to train with head coach O.T. Johnson and the UNCP wrestling team in three different camps.

The technique camp will run from June 17 to 20 and is geared toward beginners to intermediate wrestlers. The camp costs $425 for those who want stay on campus and $375 for commuters. Campers must register by June 15 to avoid a $10 processing fee.

The youth camp is for commuters only and runs from June 18 to 20. Children ages 5-11 are welcome to participate in the camp, which teaches introductory wrestling skills. Sessions will last from 8 a.m. to noon, and the registration fee is $100.

Intermediate and advanced wrestlers can participate in the intensive wrestling camp, which lasts from June 17 to 20. Wrestlers will reside on campus during the camp and will learn learn about wrestling technique and mindset concepts. The registration fee is $475.

The UNCP volleyball team will put on a positional skills camp from July 18 to 19. Two sessions will be held per day. Athletes in sixth through 12th grade are welcome to attend.

Both days feature a setting and passing clinic from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a hitting session from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Each session costs $30 to attend, and walk-ins are welcome.

The volleyball team also has an elite overnight camp on July 20 to 21. Athletes age 13 to 18 can register at a price of $200 for those staying on campus and $150 for commuters. The camp includes skills training and educational seminars.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. for the high school camp, and attendees will take the field at 9 a.m.. The cost is $25 per person.

The youth camp, which is open to kindergartners through sixth graders, costs $20 per person. Registration begins at 2 p.m. and the camp will start at 3 p.m.
