SOUTHERN PINES — The Purnell Swett athletic department won the John Williamson sportsmanship award for the Sandhills Athletic Conference, the league announced on Friday.
The Rams finished ahead of Lumberton in second place for the sportsmanship award that was released with the Wells Fargo Cup results at the end of the athletic season.
Pinecrest won the Wells Fargo Cup for the league, while Lumberton claimed sixth and Purnell Swett took seventh.
