MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fairmont native William McGirt made his second cut in three tournaments at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, and converted it to a tie for 30th finish in the tournament.

The finish earns him $41,061 and 24 FedEx Cup points, after posting scores of 68-70-69-70 for a 277, 3 under for the tournament. Dustin Johnson won the tournament at 19 under to reclaim No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

In his even par round on Sunday, McGirt started with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 2 and 3, before dropping strokes on the fifth, eighth, 10th and 11th holes. Over his final four holes, McGirt birdied Nos. 15 and 17 to get back to even par.

With the tie for 30th finish, McGirt bumped up two spots on the FedEx Cup standings to 107, while he dropped two places in the Official World Golf Rankings to 170.

McGirt is not in the field for this week’s U.S. Open.
