PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke golf team will once again host a tournament in the fall and spring and play seven events outside of North Carolina, including a trip to Tennessee for the first time since the fall of 2014 among its 10-tournament, 2018-19 schedule, head coach David Synan announced Monday.

The Braves open the fall slate by making the short trip to Wilson for the Barton-hosted Cutter Creek Invitational Sept. 10-11. UNCP then hosts the Battle at Old South for the third-consecutive year in Bluffton, South Carolina. The 36-hole tournament will be played Sept. 22-23 at the Old South Golf Links.

The Braves then trek to Cleveland, Tennessee for the Lady Flames Super Regional Preview hosted by Lee Oct. 1-2, before competing in the Catawba-hosted Patsy Rendleman Invitational Oct. 8-9 in Salisbury. The fall portion of the schedule comes to a close Oct. 22-23 at the Flagler Fall Slam in St. Augustine, Florida at the Marsh Creek Country Club.

After a four-month hiatus, the five-tournament spring portion of the schedule begins Feb. 18-19 at the Lady Moc Golf Classic hosted by Florida Southern. A trip back to Bluffton will see the Braves compete in the Wingate-hosted Low Country Invitational at the Crescent Pointe Golf Club March 4-5 before UNCP takes on the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational March 11-12 in Windermere.

UNCP’s flagship spring event comes March 25-26 when the Braves host the Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic at the River Landing Golf Club in Wallace. UNCP has finished in the top two of the 54-hole tournament each of the last two years, including a team title in 2017.

The 2018-19 Peach Belt Conference Championship runs April 19-21 and will once again be hosted by Flagler on the Slammer & Squire Course at the World Golf Village. UNCP led last year’s edition after the first two rounds before grabbing a runner-up finish, which was its best finish in the last four seasons.
