LUMBERTON — Robeson County will have a double-dose of high school football this week as the four Three Rivers Conference teams get back on schedule on Tuesday to cap a quick turnaround.

For two of the four teams playing on Tuesday are coming in with two days of practice, while two others have and extra day after their game was moved to Thursday last week.

St. Pauls at Fairmont

After claiming the rivalry win over Red Springs on Thursday, Fairmont takes on St. Pauls as it looks to win out and put itself back in the playoff picture. St. Pauls is coming off a 62-20 win over West Bladen on the road.

Last week, both team’s athletic quarterbacks racked up big games as Fairmont’s Jordan Waters totaled three touchdowns and 282 yards of total offense, and St. Pauls’ Quamadre Cannady accounted for six touchdowns and 292 yards of total offense.

The Bulldogs (5-2, 3-2 TRC) sit one game ahead of the Golden Tornadoes (2-5, 2-3 TRC) for the all-important fourth place in the conference standings.

Red Springs at East Bladen

The Red Devils are licking their wounds after back-to-back losses by a combined 11 points to Fairmont and Whiteville at home. In the most recent loss to Fairmont, Red Springs’ (4-3, 2-3 TRC) offense was unable to get into a rhythm and struggled to stop Waters as he got outside the pocket.

East Bladen (6-1, 5-0 TRC) has a chance to put what might be the nail in the coffin of the Red Devils’ playoff chances as it looks to stay in a tie with South Columbus for the conference lead, after a 49-0 win over East Columbus on Friday.

This game kicks off at 7 p.m.

Whiteville at South Robeson

The tough stretch of games in the meat of the South Robeson (1-6, 1-4 TRC) schedule continues as it hosts Whiteville (6-1, 4-1 TRC).

On Friday, the Mustangs showed little resistance against conference-leading South Columbus, and totaled a little more than 100 yards of total offense.

This game kicks off at 7 p.m.
