LUMBERTON — The schedules for the Sandhills Athletic and Three Rivers Conference basketball tournaments were announced on Saturday.

In the Sandhills Athletic Conference, local teams will open play on Monday and Tuesday. The Lumberton girls basketball team finished in a tie for second in the league standings and open against Scotland at home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Lumberton boys basketball team hosts Hoke on Monday at 7 p.m. Both Purnell Swett teams open conference tournament play on Monday. Both teams were the No. 8 seed on both sides. The boys take on Seventy-First at 7 p.m., while the girls travel to Pinecrest and tip off at 6 p.m.

The boys semifinals will be played on Wednesday at the higher seed at 7 p.m., and the girls semifinals will be Thursday at the higher seed at 7 p.m. The championship games will be at the higher seed on Friday, and both will start at 7 p.m. if both games aren’t at the same site. If the same school hosts both games, the girls game will start at 6 p.m.

The Three Rivers Conference tournament open tournament play on Monday with the first round. In a chance of format, only the top eight teams made the conference tournament field.

St. Pauls hosts South Robeson in both the boys and girls first-round games at on Monday, tipoff for the doubleheader is at 6 p.m. Fairmont’s boys host Whiteville at 6 p.m. as the fourth seed in the conference. Both Red Springs teams are on the road as the boys travel to second-seeded South Columbus and the girls go to West Bladen. Tip off for those games will also be 6 p.m.

One set of semifinals will be played on Wednesday at 6 and 8 p.m. at Fairmont, while another set will be played on Thursday at Fairmont. The championship games will be at 6 and 8 p.m. on Friday at Fairmont.
