Three local eighth-graders participated in USA Football’s regional camp last weekend in Charlotte. Pictured, from left, are athlete Walker Chavis, quarterback Josiah Oxendine and center Chad Harris. Chavis was named the camp’s Gold Ball MVP. All three are from the Pembroke area. The camp was an invitation-only event, and one of 14 regional camps throughout the spring around the country; participants are part of a pathway to play for the U.S. national team for their age group in events this summer.
