LUMBERTON — A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday evening on Interstate 95.

The Lumberton Police Department responded at 9:21 p.m. to a call about a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the northbound lane of I-95 in front of Kayser Roth, according to information from Capt. Terry Parker. Officers found the person dead from injuries suffered from being struck by an automobile.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until the person’s identity has been confirmed and the family notified, according to Parker.

The occupants of the vehicle and vehicle information are being withheld until further in the investigation, but they were on the scene when officers arrived, according to Parker.
